The Animated Series' Creator Is Aware of Fans' Second Season Bingo Cards — With Some Good News

The highly-awaited Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel debuts on the streaming platform this week, and fan speculation has been rampant.

Season 1 presents a diverse group of characters living within Hell and Heaven, pits them against each other with musical numbers about their clashes, and establishes tense rivalries and emotional bonds that drive fan obsession.

The community's expectations for the new season differ greatly, but certain threads recur frequently: Could a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the mysterious "deal" constraining the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Naturally, I don't make the show with audience demands specifically in mind," the creator stated recently. "However I believe that me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator says her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by the production companies, which produce the series.

That could imply fans have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how quickly the new season moves, and how many of what they're anticipating happens this season.

"I feel like people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some really amazing disclosures, some fascinating origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the previously silent cast members."

The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about season 2 — particularly in the form of fan bingo cards.

"I've seen a couple people make a bingo card about season 2," she says. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've already completed a few items, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on Prime Video on October 29.
